My daughter had her 3 year IEP eval the other day and since she is going to turn 9 during this IEP they brought up the Psychological testing (IQ). I am kinda freaked out by this. Right now she is in the 2nd grade in a DD class. I had a meeting today with the Psychologist that would be giving the test, her teacher and the VP since I had some questions. I had asked her where she thought my daughter would be placed, off the record just to get a feeling since she has met my daughter and talked to the teacher, etc... She said that she felt OHI or the ID (intellectual disabled?) placement would be the place for her (off the record and her opinion). My daughter has Diabetes and hypothyroidism. My question is ... where are your children placed and if it is OHI or ID ... why? Do you like it? What "type" of children are in these classes? I am asking because our "home" school does not have either of these classes available so she will have to go to another school out of district. I am panicking since she will be at a new school, new people, new nurse, new teacher, possible new PA, long bus ride possible, etc ...

Also, what kind of test did your child take when they had to be "labeled" to keep receiving spec. ed?

I got a recommendation of the W.R.I.T test since my daughter is not a reader or writer (not good enough to take a test, at least)

I hope this makes sense and the rambling was kept at a minimum!

Thanks,
