Guest guest
I would like to ask a question about PPS Consolidated Billing in reference to a pt. receiving Medicare B. in a SNF.... If... the pt. is receiving Speech in the SNF and a modified barium swallow is ordered. The swallow is then done as an outpt. at the hospital Speech dept. Am I correct in saying that the SNF is responsible for the cost of swallow (excluding the MD fee) and goes towards the 1500 cap OR can the hospital bill Medicare for the outpt. procedure? Am I correct in saying that if the pt. is covered by Med. A in the SNF and goes to the hospital for a swallow that the SNF is responsible for the cost? The reason I am confused is partly because I know certain parts of consolidated billing for Med. B have been delayed until further notice. Thanks, Amy SR ShortE322@... ------------------------------------------------------------------------
