Guest guest
Hi! I am new to this site and have a 16 year old daughter with Autism, PDD, CP, Asperger's, J-tube, Anxiety, and aggressive behaviors. From what I am reading, it looks like I am not the only one having issues with the schools. It makes me feel better that I am not the only one, but it doesn't help the situation either. About a year ago, I made a video for my daughter as a way of helping her cope with the day, no matter what life is going to throw at her. We watch it together every morning and it helps to set the start of the day calm. The school also has a copy and will have her watch it when they start to see any anxiety or the start of behaviors. It's not a cure, but it has sure helped! I posted the video to YouTube here is the link http://hk.youtube.com/flappybutterfly or you can go to the youtube site and search for Adrienne's World, it should be the first one from the search. Feel free to share or use the ideas n such for your own child. I even went as far as printing out the pictures and titles and putting them in a book so she has something to focus on when we don't have access to the video, like in the car. I am thinking of making another to address more of the meltdowns. Good Luck to you and I look forward to reading more for this group!
