Guest guest
Thanks for the info! It's a week too late for me though. I had all three of us tested at LabCorp for Vitamin D 25-Hydroxy and Vitamin D 1,25 Dihydroxy. I got back a preliminary for the 25-Hydroxy. Husband and self very low (25 and 20) and my son is 33, which is just over the lowest end of reference range. This is after a major effort to get him sun exposed since school started - I even had him doing his homework in the backyard with his shirt off before it got too cold. It's obviously not enough for any of us, so we need to boost up a fair bit. So we are now all on ProThera Vitamin D3(cholecalciferol) and I'm considering getting UV lamps. The mercola panels seem great, but very expensive - especially after the huge valkion purchase. I'm looking into full spectrum reptile and greenhouse lighting this week. I actually have the fixtures already (used to have an iguana and a tiny little greenhouse) so I'd just need to find the right bulbs that will fit. Has anyone else gone the lamp route and had a good improvement in D levels? > > > The Vitamin D Newsletter > December 28, 2008 > > The Vitamin D Council is happy to announce that we have partnered with ZRT > Laboratory to provide an inexpensive, $65.00, in-home, accurate, vitamin D > [25(OH)D] test.
