Hi all

I ave two questions-

The first question is regarding the verbal/vocal stimming of my 6 yr old child suffering from ASD.Because of this problem daily i have to listen the complaints of his teacher.Initially he was not doing this at home but now he has started at home as well.He used to make different type of noises.Making weired kind of sounds in school can be understood that to relieve the stress in noisy surroundings forces him to stim. But why at home? When i asked his ABA therapist, she said JUST IGNORE,as he does it to divert your attention towards him.But i have seen that by ignoring those

sounds,he does more .Rather the volume of his stimming also increases. The best part is that he knows that he did make noises in the school or he just made silly voices at home because he says-"I was really very noisy today at school.Thats why no body talked to me at school."My question is that when he knows that making noises is bad and no one likes it then why does he do it? Is this behaviour out of his control? Has anyone faced this issue of verbal stimming? I need advise please.

My second question is that few days back my neighbour delivered a baby .Whenever she cries ,he giggles a lot. While asking him that why are you laughing ? He answers that its so funny. So many times i explained him that if someone is in trouble or if someone is crying you should not laugh at. And now whenever the baby cries,he knows that i dont like him to giggle so he runs to another room and laughs there but infront of me he tries to hide his laughter.

He is not on GFCF diet.

I really need your advise.DONT IGNORE THIS MAIL PLEASE

thanx in advance
