Guest guest
I'm not sure if its all the hustle and bustle of the holidays or what. Sloans tantrums have become horrible. They have become more frequent, lasting longer, and he's now begun to throw his own body on the floor. Our ABA therapist suggests not to give any verbal or eye contact and to ignore if he's not injuring self or sibblings!! Any advice is appreciated!! I'm EXHAUSTED!!Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: "amheartfield" Date: Mon, 29 Dec 2008 17:53:09 -0000To: <Texas-Autism-Advocacy >Subject: HIPP denial Our recent annual review by HIPP came back as not being cost effective. I'm assuming it is because we didn't do speech and OT (as well as have several hospital visits) like we'd done in the past. He still needs it, but we moved to a new town and had a new baby so I had A LOT going on! Is it better to keep him on our private insurance with Medicaid as secondary or to just have Medicaid on its own. When they review again next year what will show as more cost effective? Thanks for your help!
Guest guest
I’d leave the room too if he, or his siblings aren’t in danger. Giving extra attention for appropriate behavior (if that’s what he wants) would be helpful too. Our son never got to the full-blown meltdown stage, but the holidays were rough on him too even though he is 14.
