Guest guest
What you eat and how obese you are depends on what you do activity wise. A University of Tennessee study of the Old Order Amish found that this group has one of the lowest rates of obesity, yet these folks eat eggs, bacon, pastries, cheese, etc. But the men in this group also do 10 hours a week of vigorous physical activity and more than 40 hours of moderate activity. Farmers can burn up to 6,000 calories a day working in the field. So those living that kind of life actually need this many calories. So the calories Steve is burning right now is far higher than what most of us out here are burning, and if anyone needs some good rib-sticking food, it's Steve. The trick is to figure out how to eat, once life goes back to sitting at a desk. That, my friends, is *our* challenge. Steve's still out there walking the road, so let him eat eggs. :-) Here is a link detailing the study. http://preventdisease.com/news/articles/hardy_lifestyle_keeps_amish_inshape.shtm\ l , DC

Guest guest
, I have read this previously. I find it very fascinating!! Makes me wonder if the inactivity of America has contributed to Obesity. Guest guest
, Of course inactivity has contributed to obesity, what did you think. It is one big problem in America. People with an active lifestyle are usually not obese, maybe a bit chubby but not obese. Bernd (Munich, Germany)" in Texas (TnT)" schrieb: , I have read this previously. I find it very fascinating!!
