Guest guest
Hello, I am new to the group and am glad to see this is an active group. My son Cody, is 10 years old. His dx is microchephaley, cerebal palsey, scolosis, PDD NOS, ADHD. He was a full term baby, during birth he did have a sometime where his heart rate dropped, (possible lack of oxygen, cord?) and then returned to normal. His Apgar scores were good and was sent home like regular. A few days later he was readmitted to NICU with severe jaundice. All appeared to go normally. At 6 months, he dropped of the devlopmental charts. His soft spot closed early. (xray and mri showed not fused) At 10 months he started PT, OT and later on ST. At 18 months he sat up, 24 months crawled on all fours, 3.5 took his first steps. Until about 5 years old he used sign language and just said mama and baba. When started kindergarten and started being aroung other peers, he started to say more words. He now says about 100 words and uses a tech talk. There is a smart boy in there who just can't tell the world. His receptive language is good, however, he can have trouble expressing himself. School is working on counting money, telling time and reading. They are doing a sight word program with the computer and books. Glad to meet you all.
