We have had a surge in interest from the community and other groups. I am very excited to announce that Jenn Jordan and the new "Cincinnati A-Team: Autism Enthusiast" will be debuting at our 3rd Annual Autism Expo. They are bringing a ton of FREE children activities the kids are sure going to love. Thanks Jenn! Also, wait till you see the new 2008 Families with ASD Autism Yellow Pages©. Families will each receive a free copy. Springdot Printing has been wonderful in helping us give the Autism Yellow Pages© a new look. Check out our 3rd Annual Families with ASD Autism Expo! FREE family- autism friendly event runs from 1:00 to 8:00. NO REGISTRATION is required. Just drop in anytime between 1p.m. and 8p.m. Free copies of the 2008 "Autism Yellow Pages©" to every family – This is an excellent source for information on local services; ASD friendly providers such as physicians, dentists, etc.; information on websites Jenn Jordan from Q102 and the Cincinnati A-Team will be there with a variety of FREE activities for the children (Bounce house, sensory pools, ball pit, face painting) Over 80 vendors and service providers with valuable FREE autism information and items Autism awareness items, books, and sensory items will be available for purchase Raffle of various items ID-a-kid Guest Speakers & Times The rooms they will be speaking in are located on the 2nd floor of the Northern Ky Convention Center. The Northern Ky Convention Center has a "No Crock Shoes allowed on Escalators" Rule to avoid injuries, but there are large elevators located next to the escalators. We also will have a "Quiet/Calming" room next to where the guest speakers will be speaking. We are going to have bean bag chairs in there as well as a projector playing Disney Movies in case families need a place for their children to calm/ rest. We will only have a couple adults volunteering in this room, so children will need to be supervised by their family. 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Brant – President of The Hope Source, Inc. She is speaking on Relationship Development Intervention (RDI). RDI is a parent-based, developmental remediation program that targets the core deficits of Autism Spectrum Disorders 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Tom s – partner with Lutz, Cornetet, Meyer & Rush with over 15 years of experience as a litigator. He is speaking on "Knowing your legal rights for children with disabilities." 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Hansen – has a Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Cincinnati. She works in a private school with ABA for children with autism. She also uses PECs/AAC devices and will be speaking on the subject. 6: 30 p.m. –7: 30 p.m.: Parish – an award-winning journalist with four nationally broadcast public TV documentaries about Autism Spectrum Disorders to his credit. He will be on-hand to sign his newly published book, "Embracing Autism". We will also have a table setup to promote the Families with ASD Autism Family Resource Center opening in Milford, Ohio, November, 2008!
