The sound of silence

Hi All,

I am curious if anyone else has or has had in the past what

I will try and detail below. I have tried explaining this to others in person

which is hard enough, let alone trying to find the words to write it down...

As a young child I recall dreams in which I would be a large

room filled with many people, they would all be talking and there would be

music and the dream would carry a sense of joy or curioiusity. Then all of a

sudden everyone would stop talking, there would be no noise at all and they

would all be looking at me. (even writing this now is making me uncomfortable)

and there would be “that” sound. The sound of that silence. Like a

static but high pitched, almost inaudible but distinctive. I would yell at the

room and everyone in it to shut up! To stop making that noise to stop it! And then

I would wake up.

I have had these dreams on and off as a child for many many

years, which was uncomfortable to say the least, they were not nightmares in

the traditional sense.

I bring this up now because a few months ago, I felt a great

pressure in my head ( on many occasions a distinct pressure and feeling is a

key clue to a slump that I am about to enter with my 4S) the pressure would

build up and on this occasion I ran outside ( I was eating dinner with my

family) I collapsed on the ground in fear agony and memories of the dreams of

my childhood rushing back to me, the sound was identical. Grabbing my head I

would say to my self to shut up to stop the sound.

This lasted about 5 minutes or so before I can back to my

senses as the sound died, and noticed my mother and girlfriend kneeling next to

me coxing me out of it, seeing if I was ok.

Describing it, I was terrified, and of nothing bar the sound

of silence.

I have on many occasions linked this sound to an onset of a

slump in the 4S and am curious if anyone else has had dreams or other

experiences in which they can hear this sound? And if they too find this is a

key indicator for the 4S. It sounds like static but very soft and I cant

hear it with my ears more in my head and there is a pressure?? I can created a

brown noise track with a low pass filter and some slight Entertainment to

supply the sound if you are interested to know what it sounds like I will see

if I can upload a snip on the website.... somehow...
