Guest guest
Just wondering for those who have Elementary age school kids with PDD or Asperger's, what type of class is your child in. My son is 10 and has been mainstreamed but had gone downhill each yr. They basically didn't "believe" that he had Asperger's because he's so high functioning, I believe they just thought he was a "bad kid". Anyway, I asked last yr at an IEP meeting, they said he didn't need an IEP just a 504and he'll get what he needs, so I asked from that point on in Nov for evals to be done as they hadn't been done for 2 yrs. They just kept telling me he won't qualify, he won't this or he won't that. Finally after a HORRIBLE yr, in May, I demanded in writing ( I didn't know I could do this) eval be done. Well sure enough I just got the paperwork in the mail from the school and not only does he qualify for Emotional Support classroom, but he qualified under 3 catagories, arggg Why couldnt' they just listen to me, well I"ve learned ALOT over the last several months and WILL be telling them exactly what I want for my son and WILL get it, whatever it takes, lol anyway, my question is, for those kiddo's with PDD at a high functioning level, what type of classroom are they in.. Mainstream, Emotional Support, Special Ed, ????? for those with the major behavior problems what types of modifications do they have on the IEP ( we have the IEP coming up) I"m looking for ideas/help? any pros -vs - cons for emotional support classroom? thanks sooo much Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget?
