Guest guest
I have one. I think it is great but I got mine for a little over a $100 and I have seen them for almost $200. I don't juice as much as I use to but hope to do it a little bit more often. I would try and find one used or cheap but I am always looking for a bargain. I think it is probably worth the money but why pay full price if you don't have to. Guest guest
I've used a champion, and it's not nearly as easy as the greenlife, which is the one I have now and the one I suggest. ----- Original Message ----- From: Marcella Mathewes Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2002 8:45 AM Subject: Re: champion juicer I have one. Guest guest
Shari, Glad to see you using Standard Process. It's so essential to use supps made from food. On the Champion. There are people who have stronger opinions on this than I however from what I've seen its a great machine, it will last forever and if necessary you can use the motor for your lawn mower if you'd like.:-) However it seems that it masticates at such a high rate of speed that the heat generated causes some enzyme loss. Much the same issues found with some grain mills. Now that said I know people who would sell their own mother before they gave up their champion. The juicer that seems to be most reliable in the quality area that I am aware of the the Green Power which if you think the champion is expensive you just went up in price. I haven't priced them recently but I think they're in the $450-$600 range. Keep up the good work Shari, All My Best, Dr. Marasco,BS,DC Cincinnati, Oh > What is your opinon on the Champion juicer? Guest guest
Shari - I found my greenlife juicer for about $350 online, but I don't remember the site. I just used search engine, search was green life juicer, and then I surfed for the best price. ----- Original Message ----- From: drmichaelmarasco Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2002 9:24 AM Subject: Re: champion juicer Shari, Glad to see you using Standard Process. Guest guest
I believe Green Life and Green Power are the same juicer. --- In @y..., " drmichaelmarasco " <mmarasco@c...> wrote: > Shari, > Glad to see you using Standard Process. Guest guest
The Green Power juicer is a smaller more expensive and LESS sturdy version of the Green Life juicer. Most people I know prefer the Green Life. It can be bought for around $375 delivered from some discount sites on the net ( http://www.discountvegetarian.com for example, but shop around). It is superior to the champion especially for making celery juice and juice from tougher greens and coconuts (I have owned both). Also, the juice actually comes out cold (same temp as the refrigerated veggies you may be using to make juice) and less oxidized (low speed twin gear crusher/expeller). Peace... --- In @y..., " drmichaelmarasco " <mmarasco@c...> wrote: > > > I believe Green Life and Green Power are the same juicer. > > > > > > >
Guest guest
The following is someone's recent post on the same topic. Got it from TherapeuticNutrition group. " It's a great juicer and it juices just about anything at slow speed (using spiral, crushing and chopping gears). So there is no heat produced during juicing. It's the only one that can make coconut cream. It takes more time to clean than most juicers (about 8 minutes for me now that I've got the procedure down pat). But I can juice lots and lots of stuff before having to clean it out (unlike the Champion which would get jammed with celery very easily and very often). It's a bit more expensive (around $325 or so) but it seems to be very rugged and long-lasting - mine's about 2 years old now and in tip-top shape. It can juice soft fruits and vegetables (like cucumber or zucchini, etc.) as well as hard ones like carrots, etc. Customer service is very helpful and generous and they sent a replacement part that had gotten cracks on the outer casing. Well the original casing is still cracked but it doesn't affect the operation one little bit - and now I have a free, new replacement if that one ever conks out. A cleaning brush is provided as well as small and large straining screens and a " club " for pushing the vegetables into the hopper. It's about the same size as the Champion - maybe a little " fatter " , taller and has a handle on top to carry or move it. It has magnets in the gears which are supposed to help preserve the nutrients in the juice. I can't say if they really have any effect or not. But I used to have a Champion and also had another top-loading high-speed juicer (can't remember the brand) and the Greenlife just blows away the competition IMHO. Guest guest
Shari, I think champions are good juicers but I think the green power is even better. I remember when I was researching juicers it was generally considered the best - very sturdy plus it adds negative electrons to the juice which is healthy (don't remember exactly how it does this.) We bought a good used green power juicer off one of the raw sites for about $300 - it was in almost new condition, had the manual and recipe books - great deal! I think the site was www.living-foods.com You might also check ebay. Barb
