Hello Gretchen,

What a horror story in these pictures! This is the first suggestion

that there might be abnormal structures in the brain that I have become

aware of. My feet and calves are much better than those presented in

this link. I guess there is always somebody worse off than yourself in

this business.

One never knows how far the progression will take one, but it definitly

pays to do what we can each day to moderate the progression or at least

prevent further complications such as the plantar sore in the CMT-1A

pictures. I tell my grandkids that the most important parts of the body

to take care of are the feet and the teeth. You need to eat to stay

alive and you need the means to get to the food.(lol) Now if I can

just find a way to get rid of the bunionette on the outside of my left

foot, I'll be in much better condition.

Hi Ed in NH,

Yes, my feet look completely " normal " compared to those photos. My

legs have always been " normal " - matter of fact I have always received

compliments on my legs, go figure. But maybe the sand walking,

swimming, biking, and other exercise keeps 'em that way. Again, we are

all different with our CMT.

Yes, too, for taking care of one's feet, legs, teeth - well, the

entire body really.
