When y'all see any email from Mr. , Sr., please do not delete them, he is also a father with an individual under the autism spectrum and is a HUGE advocate. Please add your vote AND your story. Thank you, Irma RE: As concerned parents we have to do whatever we can do. With the numerous emails and postings regarding Time Out Rooms it opens the door to all the other abuses that go on in schools that sometimes we as parents do not know about. The most important thing to me always is awareness of what ASD's even are, not just the word Autism out there, but what, why, and how's need to be looked at. I contacted CNN moments ago at the request of a parent(or 100's) that don't want Illegal Time Out rooms, Restraint done unnecessary or by someone untrained or not in compliance with an IEP's BIP, and other abuses. This is the electronic response I received..If they do respond as I think they will considering the nature of what I wrote to them about, we as parents and other Advocates for our children in special ed must speak up. If we do not.. then a child just died for no reason and without any real public outcry.. so lets cry out..we are the public: From CNN Thank you for contacting CNN. This email is to notify you that your news tip has been received and will be reviewed in a timely manner. You will be contacted if the news tip is valid and we need further information and verification. We appreciate your news tip and thank you for choosing CNN as your breaking news source. Sincerely, CNN Viewer Communications Management " CNN, The Most Trusted Name In News " So lets move forward ...no need to look back other then to make sure justice is served on this earth for all of our special children. Mine is the like the light of my path (which in the Bible is a reference to what God is). We need to protect our kids, get the funding necessary for all, stop the IEP fights with funds and mandates on insurance companies so it's not placed so heavily on School districts and especially parents like me and you. Vote and change this, and give your input as to what else needs to be added. The subtitle " Relief for all that are in/have been in special education " ..this came from a parent and not me...much of what will be in the final draft will be parental input. As I've once stated.. this ACT is for all of us. http://www.change.org/ideas/view/accept_and_sign_the_autism_reform_act_of_2009 Register at the bottom of the site and vote at the top. Guest guest
My reply is on the groups messages for today..but for some reason has 'no subject' on it. I must have clicked when I should have clanked.. This is appalling and I think every parent should send the message that we are not going to be bought off by a system that wants to stop us from Advocating for one another. Why do they want us to stop ? There is always an agenda with Money behind it. Soon, this agenda shall end. I now see yet another strong point to be made within the Autism Reform Act of 2009 regarding Advocates - as we all are one or will be one. Guest guest
This is basically nothing more then Retaliation. This man worked hard for change in an area I was once based in. It is a hard area to get services.. he got them for others and then finally got his own home program paid for. This whole crazy action taken by them is going to ultimately cost them and will NOT scare Advocates that are not afraid of the possibilities (I've seen bars before in the last 12 years due to stupid charges that all were dropped..all in relation to Advocating). This will only enrage the Large (2 million plus) community of parents of Autistic Children .. even if they are Autistic or on the spectrum adults. I believe he will be vindicated and let go.. He paid an in home therapist about half of what the District gave him in a settlement (wait, that means it's SETTLED), so, they want to charge him with fraud (they have), and tons of other counts of embezzlement.. totally off the wall. We have Governors selling off Senate Seats.. we have corruption all over.. and who do they go after ? The guy that costs the state money..money they are given to educate our children.. This is one reason I do alot of Teleconference Advocacy from Hawai'i.. sorta hard to arrest me for doing something in a State I'm not currently in. When I was traveling the stated and advocated for about 7 years I ended up locked up a half dozen times.. and let go right away - Doing a due process is NOT practicing a law without a license. It's being an Advocate for a parent/child in an ADMINISTRATIVE hearing. That has been done enough and cost enough states funds in paying my attorney and myself in settlements for 'Frivolous lawsuit " Countersuits. It's about time we embrace our standing in the 'Changes for America' We are in 5th place in the country for ALL ideas.. and number 1 in Education by over 700 votes. Unification and all parties working together will make the difference.. read the post I left today regarding our 5th place national standing with the Idea for Autism Reform Act..
