Guest guest
Hi I live in Kentucky and worked for the state at our local Protection & Permanency office. I worked with adult and child abuse cases. When my health made it necessary to request work accomodations I went through the steps involved. It took several months for the state to decide they could not accomodate me. By the time a decision was reached I had been on FMLA for two months. Now, the SSA had denied me twice on my SSDI. My employer was not understanding and really didn't care. Each time I would attempt to discuss accomodations with my supervisor his response was " can't you get disability " or " have you thought about another job " . Not very comforting. Good luck.
