Guest guest
Hi Ron, Just wondering, not to be nosy, why you can't put on socks...I'm having so much trouble lately with my feet and my entire body, like a lot of piano strings waiting to pop. I was supposed to go to lunch in a couple of hours and just called and cancelled, I'm going back to bed with a heating pad.
Guest guest
, Well my big problem is that I can't bend over far enough to put them on. Ron
Guest guest
In my case, the reconstructed foot is so large at the heel that very few socks will go over it. The sock needs to stretch to almost 13 " (6 1/2 " per side) to get over my heel. O
Guest guest
Yeah I just have a big problem bending in addition to the CMT stuff. I am effected pretty bad with it, in a wheelchair full time. Not only can I not bend over to put on socks but I also have a very hard time putting on my shoes. Sometimes I even need help with that. Guest guest
Ron, Have you tried this? It is an assistive technology device that allows you to put your socks on without bending over. http://www.improvelife.com/Sale/Dressing-Aids/Sock-Aid? gclid=CNWOt5vs9IkCFRTWJAod209TbQ
Guest guest
I have used an " assistive device " to get my socks on for years now. It is a great " piece of equipment " that has been a godsend for me. I am unable otherwise. Mine is a rigid plastic so all I have to do is slide my foot in & pull it up. Worth every penny & then some!! Kerry
Guest guest
Well I ordered a different type of one that looked easier to handle, I think it will work for me. I had no idea before this that there was even anything like it. Ron
Guest guest
Well I got one of these and it doesn't seem to work for me, if/when I can finally get my foot off the floor it always seems to turns sideways and I just can't get my foot into the sock. Oh well, back to having someone else put my socks on for me. Ron
