Guest guest
We also would highly recommend Standard Process supplements.. We receive these from our chiropractor and time and time again have had great results. We are using their Allorganic Trace Mineral supplement to get some of those needed minerals with our RO unit taking everything out. (was monsanto/solgar) Carma, The lines of commercially available supplements are pathetically poor. There are a few companies who provide an occasional decent product in their line however most are synthetic and or poor quality many times making deficiencies worse and causing more stress on the body. The only two supplement lines that I ever recommend are Standard Process and Doctors Research. Standard Process is only available through a health care provider. And of these two lines my experience has shown much better results with Standard Process, both with my own family and my patients. See my post #3227. Also see my post " prenatal vitamins " at www.westonaprice.org on their forum. It also discusses why I recommend SP over others. You can also read about them as www.standardprocess.com I realize sometimes I sound like I'm on the payroll at SP but I'm not I just respect their 70 years of history and Farmland that averages 8-10 feet of topsoil as opposed to 4-6 inches in the rest of north america. These supps are made from food sources not fake substances synthetically produced in a lab. If you can't get all your nutrition from food, your supplements better be made from food. I am familiar with most of what is sold in the stores (obviously not all) and there is nothing there that I would recommend. If you have any further questions Carma feel free to email me or re-post here. If you need a health care provider near you to obtain the SP product just let me know and I'll find one for you. In the sometime situation we can't find one near you, I can help you get them. Either way enjoy your inquiry. Guest guest
I am forever searching for good, whole food vitamins that are inexpensive and readily available . Although I like standard process, they are only available through practitioners and this is not an option for many people. I'm particularly interested in vitamins that children will take, especially children with autism since I work with these kids a lot and they can be very picky. I found one line that looks pretty decent, but it is sold via MLM/network marketing. I usually stay away from MLM products because I think most of them are inferior but this line looks different. The company is called GNLD and they were one of the first to make whole food based supplements (started around 60 years ago). They have a lot of research and are very committed to quality. They make a liquid vit for children which tastes good and is easy to mix with juice and a chewable antioxidant. They have a very large line of products. They also sell shampoo and such but they admit that these are not completely free of chemicals. They have tried to make them all natural but say they just can't get a good product so they settled for making something that works good and is as chemically clean as possible. They make a good liquid hand soap that I like (which serves as an all purpose cleaner as well) an is safe for use by chemically sensitive people. I signed up as a distributor to get the discounts but I have never sold to anyone and have no interest in doing so. If you would like to talk to a distributor who is actively selling these, I can pass on his email address. One thing I thought was interesting about these vits is they contain lipids that help the cell membrane work better to let nutrients into the cell and toxins out. I'm very sensitive to toxins and when I first took these vits I could tell there was a detox going on. They also have a product called betaguard which will help get rid of heavy metals (it was developed with chemotherapy patients in mind - to help detoxify them after chemo). The company is very product based and not just a bunch of distributors trying to earn their millions. This is pretty apparent because most people have never heard of them even though they have been around so long - they are pretty low key. I found out about them from a chiropractor. Guest guest
My family and I have been using another whole food supplement called Seasilver for the past few months. www.seasilver.com - it also is an MLM, but not a big sell job. My grandfather, who is 87 years old, has had a few strokes and was slightly slurring his speech, searching for words and had some mild shaking. He takes 2-4 ounces a day, and his speech is much quicker, not slurring and he says he feels great. Before that, he was taking a lot of different types of vitamins, manufactured by Pure Encapsulations. He says this makes a huge difference, whereas the other stuff didn't. The website discusses processing - all is unheated in the liquid except pau d'arco. I buy it by the case to save money. ----- Original Message ----- From: Barb Carr Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2002 9:11 AM Subject: Re: Re: good brands of vitamins? Guest guest
I am glad to hear these mentioned. I was going to ask about them. I give my babies their liquid vitamin and my oldest also gets some of the chewables. I also slip a chewable acerola tablet in with those because he doesn't like them as much. I know a woman who is missing her a kidney and I believe her spleen. She was pretty sick and run down before starting to supplement with these. When she was pregnant she would have to lay down when going to church and couldn't nurse her babies too long because her teeth would get lose and her hair would start to fall out after awhile. She also never made enough milk so her babies were all supplemented with raw goats milk. When she started taking these the pregnancies and labors were much better. She was also able to nurse for a longer period of time without side effects. She is a mom of 10 and the babies she had while taking this were also much healthier. She had always eaten a healthy diet before that with organic produce, raw dairy, fresh ground grains and hormone free meat but these made all the difference in the world for her. Guest guest
Morning! I am not as opposed to MLM, some are quite good, but find ing chem free products is admittedly hard. I am meeting with one tomorrow which appears to have chem free beauty and skin items. I have found a few honorable MLM's and some which I can sell directly in my natural foods shop. Shalom! Guest guest
Does anyone know anything about New Vision (MLM) vitamins and minerals and other supps? I'm using their liquid minerals and like them so far, but don't know much about them. I thought that I heard that they had fruit and veggie supps from real whole foods. ~ Carma ~ To be perpetually talking sense runs out the mind, as perpetually ploughing and taking crops runs out the land. Guest guest
I had a really bad reaction to their mineral product. We think it was a reation to a chemical in it. Also, I knew a person who was making a lot of money as a top distributor and then found out that people taking their minerals were developing kidney stones after several months. He gave up his business because he lost faith in their products. Barb Does anyone know anything about New Vision (MLM) vitamins and minerals and other supps?
