Guest guest
Hello, Although I sent one message yesterday, I think I should have introduced myself and my daughter first. My daughter, Anita, was born on July 27, 1999. She was diagnosed with mds when I had an amnio in March. 3 of the available 19 cells contained the extra chromosome #21. Although the level of mosaicism in her blood cells seem to be lower (only about 2 %) than what was found in the amniotic fluid, I know that other parts of her body may contain more cells with the extra chromosome. I am wondering if a skin biopsy will give us any more information. It was very hard when I first found out about her mds because I could not find much information. I am very glad that ann told me about this list and the website. Anita will be 3 months old next week. She just started with the early intervention program. I hope she will progress well. Anita has a 6 year old sister and a 3 year old brother. Yasuko Mom to 6 yrs., Ken 3 yrs., and Anita mds, 2 mos.
