Guest guest
Lena, Large doses of C may precipate hemolysis ( red blood cell destruction ) and this then would affect bleeding and clotting. So in your husband's case, it seems that his doctor is monitoring him closely and suggested a lower dose. Remember that Vitamin C for CMT 1A therapy is still in the clinical trials stage worldwide. You may want to read this over for more info http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/vitamin-c/NS_patient-vitaminC Too much Vitamin C may also lead to excess iron absorption and this may become a blood problem I suppose. http://www.dietpower.com/help/diet/vitamin_c.htm I encourage you to ask the doctor questions about the use of C for yor husband. ~ Gretchen
