Lena,

Large doses of C may precipate hemolysis ( red blood cell

destruction ) and this then would affect bleeding and clotting. So in

your husband's case, it seems that his doctor is monitoring him

closely and suggested a lower dose. Remember that Vitamin C for CMT 1A therapy

is still in the clinical trials stage worldwide.

Too much Vitamin C may also lead to excess iron absorption and this

may become a blood problem I suppose.
