Cymbalta and Me!

I am twice-blessed with both CMT and Meniere's disease. My neurologist

thought I sounded a bit depressed and gave me some samples of

Cymbalta. I started taking it and on day 2 of the new regimen I began

to feel dizzy. I thought I has having a mild Meniere's attack and

treated myself accordingly. It never subsided.

I looked at the drug data sheet -- the sheet is twice the size of a

pillowcase -- and on the back in the very tiny small print one of the

very rare side effects is labyrinthitis. Labyrinthitis is medical

speak for an inflammation of the middle ear causing dizziness.

I stopped the drug and the dizziness resolved.

In the literature, there are statistics that couple Meniere's and CMT

more often than is statistically expected. I remember posts from some

members that have both. To those, stay away from Cymbalta.
