Guest guest
, No pain here. But I work out 6 days a week, have done so for quite awhile now. The exercise has really made me very limber. I had a back fusion 5 years ago too, very successful, matter of fact, after the PT for that, I hit the major exercise bandwagon - with great results. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
I have been getting those now that I have started exercising, but I am hoping with continued exercising and stretching, that will start to go away. Last night I could not even straighten my leg out becuase I had such a bad charley horse in my hamstrings and had to stretch it out to get it to calm down. Guest guest
When my legs are too active/achey at night (jimmy legs) it is often from tightness in the hamstrings. I do a stretch that targets the lower hamstring. Standing on steps (holding the railing) I drop one heal below the step - leaving the ball of the foot on the step holding the weight. I do this one heal at a time for about a minute - just enough to feel the tightness in the hamstring release and stretch a little. For the upper hamstring I use a towel or yoga strap. I lay comfortably in bed -flat. I raise 1 leg strait but not rigid - don't lock the knees - and I gently pull the raised leg up towards the head of the bed/ towards the torso. This can be done also by sitting with one leg stretched out strait the other bent - bring your torso gently to the thigh of the strait leg. This way must be done carefully to insure that you don't pull your back. When I was good about exercising I had to do these stretches BOTH before and after working out.
