Guest guest
I manage a 29 bed SNF facility in rural Maine. As of April 1 we will be under PPS. Until now, we have provided 6 day a week coverage for SNF patients. My fear is that with PPS we will have no choice but to add Sundays. To those of you who are already dealing with PPS, are Sundays the only way to stay afloat in PPS? If not, how so you make it work without Sunday coverage. Any information is appreciated. Guest guest
It depends on admission date and when the 5-day assessment period begins and ends. You need to have at least one discipline providing 5 day treatment; most of the time that has been PT. But you may not have many patients to see on Sunday, so the amount of time needed has not been great. If you have therapists who travel a long distance you may want to add some other patients to make it worthwhile. Sara A.
