Yes, it can be somewhat emotionally devastating to need AFOs.

However, one of my neurologists told me that there is nothing about

my condition that would be improved by a fracture.

Hi Larry,

Do you just have one AFO? Because I do, for my left foot drop. I don't feel I

need one on each side and a few members say that a CMT person needs two. I have

just started using one within the past 6 months. It took me awhile to find an

Orthotist that could make to fit and feel comfortable... It seems to fit good,

doesn't hurt, I just know about all the plastic. Thanks for listening.. :)

At present I only have one on my left leg, but I am having symptoms on

my right side so I guess I may soon have two. When that happens I

believe the hand controls won't be far behind.
