Guest guest
In response to your fatique.... I have never thought I am depressed (who knows?) . If I do not drink my protein shake before I got to bed I sleep terrible. The PT at the YMCA suggested I drink protein before bed to replenish/ build my muscles. It does seem to help with sleep. This past year I also am experiencing alot of fatigue. Sometimes my husband does not understand ( I;m only 30). The muscles in my arms and legs were so sore today all I could think about was coming home and laying on a heating pad. I am scheduled to go to the CMT specialist next week for my first consultation. My dad also has CMT although it seems to affect him differently. I am also having alot of hand " shakes " in my right arm. It is freaking me out !! Im trying to just tell myself its my imagination !!!! I am so scared about my future quality of life. I try to tell myself, " There is always someone worse off " . I am trying to do everything I can to help with this disease..... Can anyone suggest vitamins or any prescription drug I may get on for muscles cramps ??? I know I do not post alot on here....but I do read everyone else's post. It really helps me reading what everyone else is going through....I don't feel so all alone !!! Guest guest
Hello Candace, Dr. Gott who writes a syndicated column for news papers suggests a bar of soap (any kind will due)under your bed covers. This sounds very silly but alot of people write in saying it works for them. Dr. Gott finds no medical foundation for this remedy but endoeses it. My neurologist suggested Effexor XR for pain and fatigue. Last year when I was feeling particularly bad I used Effexor for a few months and started feeling much better physically and mentally right away. I prefer not to take medication so after several months I weaned myself off. I would do it again if needed. Hope you are feeling better. The winter cold is hard on CMT. Guest guest
I have the deep fatigue as well I'm 32. Somedays it feels like all I do is sleep or what to sleep. I hate it. My mind says let's do this and that and my body says no way. I also have the shaking in my hands some days I can't hold anything without dropping them. I can't be of any help to give you suggestions but can let you know I feel the same way.
