Guest guest
Deciding to start with an AFO is one of the more difficult decisions a CMT club member has to make. I tap danced around the issue until a neurosurgeon posed this question: " would you rather trip over a blade of grass and break your hip? " One needs to balance muscle tone versus stability. When I began wearing my AFO I found myself walking both faster and farther. After 5 years in an AFO, I made the decision to try a forearm crutch. Again I walk both faster and farther. I made correct decisions of me. Others may disagree. --Larry
