Shoes to fit AFOs

My son who is 23 just started wearing his AFOs too. We were able to

find shoes made by Dunham. We bought them at a place called Top

Shoes. The salesman there knew alot about fitting shoes with orthotics and was

a great help. If I remember correctly, I believe he told us that the Dunham

brand is made by New Balance. You might try searching for Dunham on the net.

Also, www.shoebuy.com carries shoes in wide widths and several that have a deep

toe box. I always look at what they are offering for a diabetic foot. My son

has a really narrow foot, but needs room for the AFO and his hammer toes. The

Dunham shoe was a lace-up that allowed him to get a snug fit at the ankle. And

they were stylish - they looked pretty much like what all his friends are

wearing. I will ask him to check the box and get the style # for you.
