Guest guest
My name is , I am a 43 year old male living in Virginia Beach. I have just been diagnosed with CMT resulting from a Charcot joint in my right foot. The symptoms began to appear in September and it has taken quite a long time to arrive at the correct diagnosis. Looking back, the CMT diagnosis explains so much about different episodes and symptoms I have experienced and have had discounted over the years. There is some small comfort in finally being able to understand the underlying causes of some things. I have to say that up to this point the impacts from CMT in my life have been minor. I have two concerns right now. First, I have three children ranging in ages from 8 to 17. None seem to have any issues, but time and testing will tell. Second, I don't know what is next and because the disease progression is so different for different people I guess I will have to learn to live with that. I have read back into December on the board and appreciate the potential sharing of resources and look forward to continued participation. Thank you.
