Guest guest
Hello everyone, I just found out that I have to have my fusion on my foot done over again. I just had the surgery on Aug. 23rd and am having it again on Wed. It wasn't a triple arthrodesis but 2 joints were fused. The joints did not fuse at all and the doctor used bone marrow to help facilitate healing. Is it common to not heal after surgeries such as these? Have a great New Year. Guest guest
I had a fusion done in September for a Charcot foot condition. A screw started to work loose in early December and the ER ortho resident told me that the bone grafts had failed and I would require more surgery. He tried to reassure me that it was common and nothing I'd done caused it to fail. I guess it is common, but nothing they tell you prior to the surgery. Luckily for me, the surgeon didn't see what the resident was talking about and told me to not worry. He took out the screw. I hope to begin walking again mid-January.
