Thank you for touching base with Dr Vinci- I am pleased to report

that the Univ of Mich has the book and will be sending it inter

library loan to TX. I have joined the Italian CMT(the web page was

last updated 2004). My impression of the Italian site being out

dated might be because the English parts are not used very often and

is not their langauge(after all itis an Italian Organization). Do

you know the next time Dr Vinci will be in USA SPEAKING? I feel a

bit like a Dr Vinci " groupie " - after reading Gfijig's book review

and reading his papers that are both in the files sections of

message board and reviewing the AICMT research pages- Dr Vinci seems

to have the most technical info regarding living with CMT. I can't

wait to read his book.

Hi ,

Yes, Paolo does have good CMT info. Probably because it is his life's

work. He and his sister were diagnosed with CMT as children, so, like

many of us here, he's had a lifetime to learn about it,in many ways,

trial and error, and then, lucky for him, to learn it from a medical

perspective, and also a rehabilitative one.

If I hear of him coming to the US to speak, I will certainly post the

info. And of course, any papers he publishes, I will hopefully get

copies.

I think there are some photos of his Footdrop Boots in our Files section from

several years ago. The book is good to have. I read it through 3 times, then

went back to certain parts I was most interested in.

He is a wonderful friend,so caring and concerned about people with CMT. He is

extremely well educated, speaks/writes/reads 5 languages too.
