Guest guest
Hi Teri, When my son had his NCV test I looked all over the internet for information on what his results meant. The Dr. told use that the normal range for conduction velocity was between 50 and 60 m/s. My sons was only 9.9 m/s, which means he has type 1. With type 2 you can have normal or close to normal values. They also told me that having such low values does not necessarily mean he will be more severely affected. His neurologist said there is a correlation in about 60% of cases and you just can't predict it. I found a few websites with some info. I have included the links I hope it helps. http://www.neuro.wustl.edu/neuromuscular/time/hmsn.html - this site is pretty technical but if you scroll down it has a chart with NCV values. http://www.mcghealth.org/Greystone/t_and_p/neuro/TP013.html - this site mentions what normal values are. EMG and NCV results Hello Everyone. Can anyone explain to me what the " normal " values in a test are? I have looked extensivly on the web and cannot find any kind or chart or reference to compare my results to. Thank you! Teri
