Guest guest
My gut would immediately tell me these are things someone is saying to him. BUT just to be sure I would keep an eye on the shows he's watching. Peek in for a few minutes of each show just to see if it sounds like something that could come from there. Also, this could be something thats said in the class but not to your son and he just picked it up. My experience with this was a little different. My son isn't very verbal at all so when he was going to school I started to keep notes of certain things. I felt slightly unsure about the class but didn't listen to my gut. Anyway, he began to furiously grind his teeth, which he always did but never to this extent. He also when he did something wrong would go in his closet. At the time of course we don't put all the pieces together immediately. My mommys intuition was right. I removed him from class for several weeks and the grinding and closet sitting stopped. I immediately withdrew him from his class. To parents of " typicals " my reaction my have been an overreaction. But we need to go with our thoughts since our children cant flat out say this person is mean to me. Sorry this is so long. Hope it helps. Good Luck. > > One day my son ran in the room and sat next to me on the couch while > saying " your going to be a sorry little boy! " My mouth must have > dropped open...I was like " who said that? Guest guest
My son says off the wall things out of the blue also. I think that it may be scripting or possibly just replaying events and in his mind and saying them aloud. My son is really into star wars right now and anytime anything new comes into our house he will say who brought that here? And I will say who it will usually me and then he will go oh it was teleported it here! It is funny. He lives in such a fantasy world. The other day outta the blue he was like remember when we took our kitty to the vet and he got shot in the head. I had to think hard and then I remembered that the cat got a shot the last time we went to the vet. Also when he is walking by the tv and hears something he likes he will repeat it but usually only one time. This one is funny and I have to share it. The other nite I was telling my husband a story that I heard on a radio show that I listen to in the car in the morning. My son was in the room and all of a sudden he busts out saying the name of the show in the loud obnoxious radio personality voice! You probably had to be there but we busted up laughing. > > > > One day my son ran in the room and sat next to me on the couch while > > saying " your going to be a sorry little boy! Guest guest
,I feel for you! My son is 5 and in a diagnostic K for Autism class! There is 3 assistants and 1 teacher and 3 kids! I don't know what is going on at the school but has changed about school since oct 8th and Oct 7th is when his teacher and I started having some issues that resulted in a whole bunch of stuff! The funny thing is at his staffing 2 weeks ago they have down the noticed behavior change as Oct 8th too but they keep saying it must be the meds! Today was really happy to know Miss Jenna would not be at school but like my husband said he has Autism so it is hard to tell! Hang in there! I know what you mean about the teacher coming back with a different story! That happens here too!StacieSent via BlackBerry by AT&TDate: Mon, 24 Nov 2008 01:06:18 -0000To: <AutismBehaviorProblems >Subject: It happened again, is this scripting? One day my son ran in the room and sat next to me on the couch while saying " your going to be a sorry little boy! " My mouth must have dropped open...I was like " who said that? " I thought that was a weird statement to come out of his mouth. Not something you'd expect from a 7yr. old. He said that Ms. whoever said it at school. (there's 8 aides in the class with one head teacher) So this morning he comes in the room and sits on my lap and says.... " So are you going to tell your mother? " I looked at him and said " what? " and he just had that cute little smile on his face. He wouldn't say where he heard that or if someone said that to him somewhere. (like school???) Does anyone else's child say things like this? I don't want to put thoughts in his head but do you think someone is talking like this to him for some reason? Does anyone else here ever feel like their child is being treated inappropriately at school? How would we ever know when our kids don't communicate clearly. AND when my son does tell me something the teacher always has a little bit of a different story. It's so frustrating.
