Heidi,

Dr. RS has an unique way of explaining a Herxheimer reaction (die-off

reaction). He believes that Herxheimer reaction is caused by rapidly rising

matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF). When the

body is exposed to biotoxins, or taking antimicrobial herbs to kill

pathogens and stir up biotoxins, the toxins arouse heavy cytokine

bombardment. It's (high) MMP9 that delivers very powerful pro-inflammatory

cytokines (unregulated cytokines) to make symptoms worsening.

I recently tested Ingvar for MMP9. His level seems to be fine. (But I need

to double check if the reference range is adjusted for his age group.) I

don't know if this is the reason that Ingvar has never herxed. He tolerates

well many different antimicrobial herbs in high dose, except for LDM-100,

which I think that his body is not ready for it. The next thing on our

to-do-test is TNFa.

Here is Ingvar's lab result:

Since I am not sure how well Algas binds, I would recommend using a

binder like alginates or modifilan with it. Nutramedix makes it, and

I currently buy my Nutramedix products from www.myherbs.net Algas is

also an immune booster. What a great combination, kills pathogens and

rids toxins. I wish there were more science on it. It's made from

Gigartina chamissol.

Love and prayers,

Heidi N

Algas (red algae) is extracted from Gigartina chamissoi, growing in the

Pacific Ocean off the Peruvian coast. It is a metal mobilizer. It mobilize

heavy metals from the interior of the cells, but it does not well bind to

metals to drag them out of the body. Heidi is right to use alginates or

Modifilan (brown algae) to help mopping up metals.

If you can tolerate (cracked) Chlorella, it is a good metal binder and a

biotoxin binder as well. Dr. Dale W. of NASA says that " It has been

amply demonstrated that Chlorella can be used in a closed ecological

system... Chlorella is so nutritionally complete that astronauts could

survive on it alone for long periods of time. "
