Guest guest
We have used Pycnogenol (Maritime Pine Bark Extract) since 1994. Began by using the formula that is sold through Kaire International. Since that point in time we have also obtained it from Suvida and 4Life Research. We tried Grape Seed Extract for awhile but it did not work for anyone in our family. But we have friends who have found the opposite to be true for them and their family. Both are similar as far as the components that they contain. One thing I have noticed is that Pycnogenol does help with ADD. But we began using it for its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier. And also for its ability to help with sticky red blood cells. They come unstuck when Pycnogenol is introduced. Also cell walls become more flexible allowing toxins out and nutrition into the cell. I believe this greatly assists in removal of heavy metals when chelating agents are being used. And for myself, I know it is working because my enlarged varicose veins behind my knees shrink and do not bother me as long as I consume it. Guest guest
What brand did you use? Maritime Pine Bark Extract/Pycnogenol must be formulated correctly before the components that help brain function will truly work. Pycnogenol consists of close to 40 different components. Also the ones that benefit brain function, especially ADD/ADHD last only about 8 or 9 hours and so it must be consumed again. Other components that help with inflamation can stay in the body as long as 48 to 72 hrs. As well, it is important to know that for ADD/ADHD one may need 2 mg per 1 lb of body weight to have results. This is about twice what is used for other health conditions that it benefits. Yes, I realize that it is expensive. But we found that when used correctly and from one of the better companies, that it helped more than one health condition. In my estimation, the very best brand probably is Kaire followed by SuVida. Kaire is a MLM while Suvida is not. Kaire is the more expensive of the two. Also, I have tried nearly every brand of Pycnogenol that is sold at our local health food stores and not one of them was beneficial for my ADD. Zero effectiveness.
