Guest guest
Hi , I have a miserable time with the five point harnesses system. The car seats I prefer are made by Evenflo with a three point harnesses system. _http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3922504_ (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3922504)
Guest guest
Hi , I too ran in to this problem when I had my daughter and I ended up keeping a screwdriver in the car -- don't laugh, it worked -- I had a situation where I couldn't get her out and said this will not happen again -- so I used the screwdriver to " mash down " the release button and never had a problem again. Eventually my daughter got better at it then me and just " let " herself out. Good Luck!
Guest guest
Hello! I have found some car seats much trickier than others. We went into Babies R Us (or similar baby store) and tried all of the different kinds of buckles (they're usually out on display or you can ask for help with the ones you can't reach.) Our daughter has a Britax, http://www.britax.co.uk, which is highly rated, and I haven't had trouble with her buckles, though some on friend's seats are too tough (especially the pinch release buckles). Good luck and congratulations on your little one! Lenka
Guest guest
Hi ... We've been using the screwdriver option too...Gavin can't undo his own car seat buckle, but with something to push down on button he can make it work. Pen, screwdriver whatever. The five point harness I'm not sure about because you'd have to squeeze it...I think with some 3 point systems you have a horizontal buckle. I like the Evenflo seats also because some models have a handle arrangement where the handle 'turns' sideways right at the top, making it possible to carry the seat with your hand parallel to your body, the way you'd carry a briefcase...I found it much less tiring to carry than a straight handled seat where you have to turn your wrist. Good luck Sally
Guest guest
I want to thank you all very much for your help!!! I will check them all out and see which one works best for me. I never thought to actually go to the stores and try the buckles and buttons (duh!)And the one time I had my niece in the car I tried using a water bottle to mash the button in!!! So your screwdriver method doesn't sound crazy! :-) Thank you bunches!!!
