Hi Jim and Welcome,

One of my grandsons played little league baseball and twice during the season

they played a team called the Challengers. They actually looked forward to

these games. They loved being able to help the children with disabilities.

Everyone had such a good time.

I might add that in addition to myself having CMT, my 3 sons have it and, two of

my grandsons have it also. Tell your son never to give up. My oldest grandson

plays football with his friends. He gave

himself the nickname The gimp and he is never without his smile. He has had to

deal with this since the 3rd grade. He is now 20. I wish you the very best of

luck, and I'm sure you will find this group very informative and helpful.

There are some leagues for kids who have some disabilities. I think

they are called challenger leagues or something similar to that. I

have a friend with 3 kids with CMT along with his. All of his kids

have played in those leagues and regular ones. Let him play. The

exercise is good for him and it's good for him to be with kids his age.

Welcome Jim,

We have a soccer team for kids with special needs. A lot of the players wear

AFOs. The ball has a bell in it for the blind kids :) I love the team spirit

that the kids have. They really want to play and have fun and be a part of a

team. Of course my Adam didn't want to play soccer. Oh well...

Jim, would you consider starting a team for kids with special needs?

Thanks to everyone for their welcoming and support. I'll follow up on

the links sent and see what happens. I don't think I want to start a

team/league but I would certainly be an active particpant.

Jim
