Guest guest
To everyone, I have run into a couple of experiences where I have been referred to a specialist, depending on my problem and have had the very distinct feeling that the doctor did as little as possible and was looking for the quickest way to find as little as possible and not want a followup appointment because I am a Medicare/Medicaid patient. I am curious how many others have run into the same situation. It is no secret doctors do not get paid nearly what they charge from Medicare/Medicaid patients. I do believe some doctors are looking at what goes in the bank account over what they can do for a patient. This is definately not true of all doctors, thankfully. There are good ones out there, but boy are they hard to find. Because I have CMT, I wonder if this is also a factor, if the doctor is " dumb " when it comes to CMT, and really don't think it is worth their time to educate themselves on it since they will not really get paid for it. I have seen some real insensitive " doctors " who couldn't even tactfully blow you off. This can make it real difficult to believe in the health care system, when the " care " part seems to be missing. Like I said though, there are good doctors out there, you just hope you don't have to go through to many bad ones to get to the good ones. Good Luck and Best Wishes,
