A recent posting had asked for suggestions to help to cope with CMT challenges.

I would like to echo the sentiments of Gretchen who recommends basically healthy

living choices through diet, water, exercise (for me this is in water), rest as

needed and time for fun and relaxation.

Something that has really helped to turn my life around is learning about the

law of attraction and how our thoughts become things. Many of you may have

heard about this recently as it has been featured on Oprah, Larry King and The

Ellen show. I have been studying quantum physics and the law of attraction for

quite a few years and more recently have watched the movie " The Secret " , which

explains the principles involved.

I know it is difficult to hear that we all create our own reality and attract

everything that happens to us, but it is true. When you focus on the negative

you attract more negative things into your life. It is too complicated to

explain in a short email but I would really suggest reading the book " The

Secret " or watching the movie.

I can tell you that my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal Cancer and

told he would live 2 months to 2 years max and that was over 7 years ago and he

is doing great! I along with 2 of my children have CMT and I consider myself

blessed. I do not want to sound like I am preaching and I know we all have

individual circumstances but once you realize how your thoughts affect your

health you will choose them differently. I send this message with love and

concern for all and if it helps just one person make a positive change that is

wonderful.

Warmest Wishes,

,

Thank you for reminding me of " The Secret " Your email could not have come at a

better time, although my worries today are not even CMT related, but more about

career choices and re-figuring out what I am capable of doing. I know my mind is

my worst enemy and when I re-work it, good things do happen.

I believe I will be going out today to buy this book so I can re-focus my

thoughts!

Thanks again!

Jackie

Hi -

Thanks so much for this email. I agree so much that we make our life and that

our positive thoughts impact our life our opportunities as well as the way

others see us.

Funny enough I had a friend who recently got botox done. One of her key reasons

was that she had developed a kind of scowl line. And she decided that because

she always looked angry and was projecting angry even when she wasn't that she

was getting angry vibes and negative in return from other people. She swears

that with the botox her more neutral face winds up with a more positive response

being given to her from others.

Anyway, it is another lesson that what we project is what we get - a self

reinforcing loop.

All the best from London - and I will be buying this book for sure!

Hi Donna,

This little ditty demonstrates your point:

Smiling is infectious - you catch it like the Flu

When someone smiled at me today I started smiling too

I walked around the corner and someone saw my grin

when he smiled I realized I passed it on to him

I thought about that smile and realized it's worth

A single smile like mine could travel round the earth

So if you feel a smile begin don't leave it undetected

Let's start an epidemic and the whole world will be infected!

Sending you a smile,
