Yes, google "MCS lyme" and you should find lots. If you don't, let me know. I and one of my son's also have MCS.

Hi ,

If you want, you can run IGeneX;s Complete Co-Infection Panel #5090,

plus WA-1 form of Babesia (duncani) #710 if you live in the West Coast.

Here are my comments on your test results:

Your son's:

______________________________

IFA, B Burgdorferi G/M/A --> Positive

Lyme IgM Western Blot --> Inconclusive

(Please note that band #31 is Borrelia-specific. The indetermination

on this band will render the test inconclusive. Band #41 is not

Borrelia-specific, but it often shows up earliest in Lyme patients.)

Lyme IgG Western Blot --> Negative

(IgM is more important than IgG. IgG can only reflect an evidence of

an infection in the past and cannot be used to suggest the presence of

an infection. IgM reflects an acute, on-going infection.)

Yours:

________

IFA, B Burgdorferi G/M/A --> Negative

Lyme IgM Western Blot --> Inconclusive

(See the reasoning mentioned above. Please also note that if you have

symptoms, in Dr. Burrascano view, this is a positive result. Positive

on band #41 plus Lyme symptoms is what he looks for in order to

diagnose Lyme.)

Lyme IgG Western Blot --> Inconclusive

(Both band #31 and #39 are Borrelia-specific.)

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

I just got the test results back for my son and myself. My husband is

dragging his feet on getting to the lab for the draw, so his will be

pending for a LONG time.

Below is what I just receive via fax. I'm still pondering and

researching. The appointment with my son's doctor is on monday. Any

input from the group in the meantime would be much appreciated! I

think I should have added co-infections to the blood draw. Same lab?

Different lab?

BTW - I've had a number of infections in my youth. Mono, bacterial

meningitis and Ross River Fever (a mosquito borne virus - only in

australia? Not sure of the breadth of it's range).

I'm confused, I thought band 31 means you have lyme. If so, then why

are they saying negative here. Did you do any lyme-killing

treatments before testing?

Hi Limin,

Thanks for the detailed reply. I got the part of positive for the

antibodies for my son, but the rest of it.... I'm not sure of the

implications.

I assume the antibody means he has been exposed to the bacteria, but

perhaps the inconclusive blot means he doesn't have an active

infection any more. Meaning his immune system had an appropriate

response and killed it? Or it's hiding out, biding it's time waiting

for an opportunity to activate and run amok? He has serum IgA and IgG

deficiencies(IgA is the most severe but improving!) so if those are

the usually killers/suppressors, then I'm pretty sure they weren't

able to do their job at the time of infection. IgM has always been

within ref range though. First serum Ig panel was run when he was 12

months old, so he was possibly born with a messed up immune system.

If it wasn't for the low cholesterol and hyper-coagulation I might

consider it a non-threat in it's current state. BUT with low

cholesterol, he's not remyelinating and detoxing mercury as well as he

could. And with thick blood, he's not transporting nutrients in and

biochemical waste out as well as he potentially could.

Apart from that he's really doing very well. Recovered from all ASD

symptoms and looks like he's glowing with health and vitality. He's in

pre-K summer school with no aide and no mention of his previous

diagnosis. He loves school, is making friends and has no problems

fitting in with the crowd or completing his assigned school work.

UNLESS he's exposed to chemicals (like smoke from the fires, stinky

white board markers, toxic cleaners) then he's an emotional

unreasonable wreck. I'm always trying to keep one step ahead of

chemical exposures.

Is Multiple Chemical Sensitivity also linked to infections like this?

One more question - do you have any idea if can I get the lab to run

the add-on tests you mentioned from the same blood sample? Or is it

insufficient or disposed of at this point and another kit/draw is

necessary?

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Yes - Boluoke for two weeks before the blood draw. Not sure if it

actually kills lyme. I thought it just breaks down their shields. But

his immune system may have had a try though? No fevers, illness or

inflammation since starting the supp. He did have meltdowns a week or

so ago - but I attributed it to chemical exposures from school

supplies and smoke from the fires. Air filter and change of pens &

cleaners in the classroom fixed immediately.

Heidi,

You may want to ignore the CDC standard interpretation on the Western

Blot. Their approach is exactly what Dr. criticizes.

my son had a similar result....a week later i qualified for CDC + on labcorp....4 years ago showed and IgM to 23 (quest missed 41)...a year and a half before...negative on crappy serum test...but all the text book symptons and rashes...so they put me on prednisone/tylenol....i was clueless and really a pregnant mess...couldn't even change a roll of toilet paper....let alone google.  the results are devastating--i have one inflamed/toxic really low functioning kid.

I wouldn't suggest that you run a coinfection panel using the same

blood sample. From your another post on the same subject, it does seem

that you have done some Lyme related antimicrobial for some duration.

The antimicrobial either prescribed or natural, herbal will help the

body to recognize the microbes and produce antibody response to the

antigens used for the test. This will help to improve the accuracy of

the test.

Hi

I am replying your mail from the Australian group

here – no one would understand the results over there.

I am living in New Zealand, but our ASD journey start

with Dr. Varipatis in Sydney.

Do believe you have nice stay in Australia (Good on ya).

I send a message to their group regarding LIA conference,

and have replies with question about IGenex Testing.

This is my son (5-1/2yo) test which does not differ

from your son one (no co-infection panel unfortunately),

and he is considered as positive by his LLMD:

Hi Ivan,

Wow, the test results are very similar aren't they! I'd be very

interested to know if the combination of bands are common to the USA

as well, or just to us with the Australian connection? Perhaps the

infections are specific to that geography? I'm going to talk to the

doctor tomorrow about getting the co-infections panel. Before I order

it though, I want to know if they only test for pathogens that are

specific to North America.

I moved to the USA when I was 20, but contracted Ross River (from

Wagga mozzies), Mono (aka glandular fever) and bacterial meningitis

(from surfing at Harbord beach during the sewage pipe break incident)

in my teenage years before leaving. My son returned to Australia twice

before his Dx - as an infant and as a young toddler.

So there could be either congenital or direct infection of australian

specific bugs. He was already showing minor pre-ASD behaviors by the

second visit, so if does turn out to be a local infection I'd lean

more towards congenital. I don't believe he could have been bitten by

an insect during the first visit. He was 5 months old and covered from

head to toe because it was the middle of winter in Canberra. I can't

imagine many bugs survive the freezing temps!

I've heard Dr V in Manly is great. We were lined up with him in case

of a problem while we were there. Plus Dr Turtle in Canberra. No

medical issues though (except for Jack Jumper stings) so it wasn't

nessassary to meet either of them.

It was a fantastic 3 month visit, but it took half a year to plan and

execute! My son was on a LOT of supplements at that time, so almost

everything had to be shipped in advance. Jan of the australian biomed

group was an angel. Couldn't have managed without her help.

I'm so glad this is an international group! It gives more breadth to

our joint research and discoveries.
