Guest guest
We are working our way into a GFCF diet for DS (we're going to follow it too!) and since we are just learning about it, I was hoping some of you who follow this with your child or your entire family could recommend some of your favorite brands of GFCF products. We just got back from the health food store and I got some So Delicious coconut milk yogurt, DariFree powdered milk substitute, and some Van's waffles. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! Guest guest
Forgot to add, I also got some Barbara's Bakery Puffins Honey Rice cereal. Also, I would appreciate any comments anyone may have on the products I purchased. So far, I know DS likes the cereal. He had some of it riding in the stroller in the store. > > We are working our way into a GFCF diet for DS (we're going to follow > it too!) and since we are just learning about it, I was hoping some of > you who follow this with your child or your entire family could > recommend some of your favorite brands of GFCF products. > > We just got back from the health food store and I got some So Delicious > coconut milk yogurt, DariFree powdered milk substitute, and some Van's > waffles. > > Thanks in advance for your suggestions! >
Guest guest
Hemp milk ended up being a favorite (though Zach won't touch any milk substitute, he just switched from milk to juice/water). Whole Soy and COmpany for yogurt. We are still casein free, but dropped the glutten after Zach got into some and there was no effect on him (same thing with dairy and you can tell almost immediately). I remember there being a pretty good corn-based bread called glutino ( http://www.glutenfree.com/ ) that was pretty good (for us it had to be toasted). Don't forget to weed out glutten and casein from his playdough (the " official " playdough is glutten based), pastes, hair care/lotions, etc. I know I couldn't figure why ds had a reaction until I relaized I was using a lotion that was milk and honey (for some reason it didn't dawn on me that that had actual milk in it). It's tough at the beginning, but you get use to it after a while. Currently we are dairy and dye free. Happy Thanksgiving, > > We are working our way into a GFCF diet for DS (we're going to follow > it too!) and since we are just learning about it, I was hoping some of > you who follow this with your child or your entire family could > recommend some of your favorite brands of GFCF products. > > We just got back from the health food store and I got some So Delicious > coconut milk yogurt, DariFree powdered milk substitute, and some Van's > waffles. > > Thanks in advance for your suggestions! >
Guest guest
Amazon.com is a great way to get your supplies. It is usually cheaper then whole foods. You have to buy it in bulk like 6 pkgs at once but you can also use subscribe and save and they discount it another 15% Glutino pretzels are a must they taste great. Van waffles!, Pamela's wonderful bread mix makes great everything from pie dough to bread bagels and even pizza crust really easy to make. My son also likes bob mills gluten free bread but it is bean based and we have to limit him on how much he eats in a day or he is really gassy the next day. It is also more complicated and time consuming to make. Gluten free pantry - gluten free food that walmart makes. They have a muffin and a brownie mix that is cheap and good found in the baking section it is a silver box a little hard to find at times. I also love walmart because everything is marked in bold print on the back if it is gluten free if it is not stated it is not gluten free if it is their brand. My husband begs me to make the gluten free brownies instead of the regular ones they are so good. There is a choclate soy pudding that is good it is refridgerated and it has a panda on it. Don't remeber the name and none in the fridge : ) There is also dairy free cream cheese and sour cream that is very good. In the refridgerated section and has a yellow band around it. by toffuti's Burger king's french fries are the only fast food french fries that are gluten and dairy free almost all fry in seperate grease but always ask. Also red robin has a gluten free menu and there fry's are also gluten free and fried in a different fryer.
