Guest guest
I am most likely being a worry wort. I joined this site at the onset of my husband's concern that the CMT his mom has been showing worse and worse signs of for the past 25 years (she was about 40) he is 43 now, were beginning to show in him. He had gone to the Dr. for the flu and the Dr. told him his reflexes are slow to react. He said nothing to this Dr. of his family history he just came home very sad and said to me some painful words of what he expected in his future and that he did not expect this to happen to him. (by the way he is back up and feeling great about life already.) Things pass quickly when you have a full life. We have a 20 yr. old son and 3 yr old B/G twins that keep our minds off any kind of bad stuff pretty regularly!! As I read and re read all the posts in my short relationship with the FABULOUS site I have learned more than I had in the past 20 years from my in-law family. I'll get to the archives soon. Any how, what I sadly learned is that this is NOT a mature persons diagnosis only. I have learned through reading that children get this in the first decade often. My question is to those of you who did get CMT young, or have young children now with CMT in their first decade or even more precisely before the age of 5. What signs (if you recall) did your parents notice in you that made them think to get you checked. My daughter has been complaining of leg pain for months and months. I thought it was a tool to get to sleep in our bed. She goes to bed just fine but about 2-3 am she walks in and says her leg hurts and could she stay with me. I rub her leg and she says it feels better. It is hard to accurately communicate with a 3 yr old. AS you know they cry over most things easily! I assumed it was her leg waking from being asleep. You know those pins and needles can be pretty scary and painful to a baby. Any advise from those who know would be helpful. I have read so much about the legs and reflexes and lower extremities..............this just popped into my head.........I wonder if.................... Thank you, A concerned Mommy De McDaid Momma to Brett, and Paige ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ No need to miss a message.
