With the organic soft white wheat berries I buy, the

sprouts appear within 24 hours after I soak them

overnight and then drain the water. Within the next

12 to 24 hours (so 36 to 48 hours total from the time

they're drained), the sprouts are close to 1/4 " long

and I take the wheat out of the jar and dry it. I

rinse it 2 or 3 times a day while sprouting. I think

there's probably something wrong with wheat that

hasn't sprouted in 7 days.

Hi Joy:

It probably means the crop that produced the seeds was grown in low

soil fertility. If so, the seeds would be of lowered nutritional

value. If the the seeds had been irradiated, probably none would have

sprouted. Perhaps you should take the seeds back to where you bought

them and ask for a refund. Were the seeds organic and do you know if

they were hybrid or open pollinated?

I would be insisting to get my money back from whoever sold you the wheat.

Wheat has sprouted after being in a pyramid a couple of thousands of years

so there is definitely something wrong with your wheat.
