Guest guest
So maybe this has been discussed, but does anyone else have this happen? Background: The only sounds that bother me are " mouth noises " (chewing, smacking, etc.) or hiccups. Some of the other soft sounds, like store bought waterfalls do not bother me. So unfortunately we adopted a dog that is very old and turns out to have OCD which is manifested as LICKING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT INCESSANTLY. It drives me crazy. So to try and desensitize myself to the sound, we bought a small indoor waterfall. When I am in the other room, I hear the waterfall sometimes and think it is my dog licking his feet or the wall or something. I start to freak out and run into the other room to try and stop him. Then I see he is asleep and it is just the waterfall and I immediately relax!!! So it isn't just the noise that bothers me. Also, I am bothered by people biting their nails or doing other incessant, repetitive things, but the noise itself doesn't bother me. These things don't usually elicit quite as much anger however as mouth noises. Thanks,
