Guest guest
Hello , I just wanted to reply and put in my two cents worth. Are these people of a bunch of idiots or what??? Shame on them! I was so angered by your post and what they are doing to you and your son. Sometimes we have to get tough to get someone's attention. If you do not get results I would contact your local news station or newspaper. That seems to get results. It is a shame to have to go to that length, but your son and his education are too important. Sorry if I butted in, I just feel very bad for you. Best of luck! Guest guest
Thanks Teri, I really feel I am at the end of my rope. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't vent. I just re read the OCR report on the Dept of Ed website and it clearly says a 504 plan is for students with a physical imparment that impacts a major life activity. I can tell you it majorly impacts his life and it impacts his education.
Guest guest
Here is how you answer that. " If because my CMT doing physical stuff makes him unable to come to school then it effects him educationally " I have never heard of such a thing as physical diability doesn't get an IEP, see its Americans with Disibilities Act. Take a look at that or spend the $50 it costs to get a consultation with an attorney to find out for sure. Many school districts will fight tooth and nail against IEPs and even whats in them. Don't let that stop you. My son has Autism and the first year or so it was hard for us to get what we wanted. Once I started to bring a lawyer along to the IEP meetings it went alot easier. It was Hi, i'm Ron, this is my attorney, lets get to work. Their attitude changed alot but you really need to make sure your entitled. Check it out. Guest guest
Feel free to vent any time you feel the need. We are all here for one another. I liked the idea of taking a lawyer along. I will be praying for you and your son. Take care! Teri
