Guest guest
Andy I have been in and out of the medical system in the UK since I was a child, generally on something like a 10 year cycle (as it seems like its another step backwards physically every decade!) To me, not a whole lot has changed either, ie the tests etc but the fact that there is more understanding does help. It's great - in a terrible way - to know that you're not the only one, that you're not neurotic and not only is there a " label " but at least they know what causes it. It took twenty years of hemming and hawing before they decided I definitely had CMT and nothing else. It's a moot point if that if I had a " label " any sooner whether or not it would have made any difference. Now, at least I know what options there are albeit they're limited! Like you I feel very much sometimes that I've been left to stand on my own two feet (!) but maybe thats a good thing - I've not made up my mind, its a struggle sometimes but I'm still upright and hanging in there like grim death ~lol~ Anyway.....just my point of view. Hang in there too! Fiona in Glasgow:-)
