We long to be full of hope for the future – hope for a new day, for a new level of healing, for peace. We want to make our resolutions and experience a truly new beginning. And yet there is a part that wonders if anything will really change – if there is respite for us in the days ahead, or if this will be another year of overwhelming challenges. No matter what today or this year holds, help us to remember that it is made up of 366 days which you have made. It will hold for us 366 mornings full of your new mercies. Help us to realize that not one day will go by without your unfolding grace upon each member of this family. Lord, I pray that throughout this year, especially when discouragement comes into our hearts, help us to understand and experience all the hope, healing, and peace you long for us to have each and every day. There is a good year ahead. Let our hope and our expectations arise to meet the new miracles you have for us in 2008.
