Guest guest
Jackie, I had hand controls on a car that I owned, and The insurance was very costly and the DMV here in CA has me on the run with the medical paper work to allow their use. Guest guest
Wow, it never affected my insurance, but then again, I never informed the insurance company that I have them. I just had them installed from a private dealership. That is a shame that they make it so difficult. Gretchen, is there any way around this for Nina in CA???? Guest guest
Jackie and Nina, I'm not completely up to date on the use of hand controls in California. These sites may be helpful. One thing, Jackie, is that when a person applies for a driver's license here in Calif., that person MUST show proof of insurance. On the hand controls, Nina, perhaps a letter from your doctor might help, then make a special appointment for a road test to prove you are competent at driving with hand controls. http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/driversafety/pm_guidelines.htm http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/people/injury/olddrive/modeldriver/3_3_desig ing.htm ~ Gretchen
