Guest guest
Hi Bill, I looked into the half life way back when we started taking vitamin C. That is how I came to the conclusion that I needed to take time release. I sent off a page with references and links in another email. But to make a long story short from what I found large doses of vitamin C only last 30 mins. The body will only store 1500 mg at a time. 1500 mg has a longer half life. To keep the vitamin C levels at a therapeutic level it is necessary to replenish the supply every four hours. That was way to much for me so I went time release. With Dr. Shy's dose being as low as it is he can count on the half life of 1500 mgs. Linus ing recommended 1,000 a day as a minimum for a healthy person. _Vitamin C, Linus ing Institute's Micronutrient Information Center_ (http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/vitamins/vitaminC/)
