Guest guest
I am scheduled to have 's annual review on Friday. I met with her teacher who told me has done very well academically in first grade and will be moving up to regular ed second grade class. She receives very little in support services, just speech 2x group one in class and one pull out) and 1x group counseling. My district wants to transition her out of the speech services because she does so well on the standardized tests used to determine eligibility. I'm not happy about this. Does anyone have a child who did not get support services in elementary school? While she is keeping up now, I don't know if that will continue as the work gets progressively harder and more reasoning becomes necessary. I suppose as time goes on the areas that are difficult for her will become more apparent. Has anyone experienced this? I seem to be the only one who sees where struggles. I don't know if its just because I see more of her than her teacher and therapist or if I'm just being too critical. I'm starting to loose my objectivity here. Just wish I could feel more confident that I will do what's best for her. ann (Mom to , mds 6yrs old and 10 yrs old)
