Guest guest
I took this job as a traffic coordinator a little over a year ago, and part of the reason I applied for this job was because I knew it was a desk job and I would be able to be sedentary all night. ( 12 hour graveyard shifts). I coordinate all inbound/outbound traffic for a large distribution company, and monitor and issue work to all warehouse operatives through the computer system we use. My dilemma is; a couple of weeks ago, we got a new supervisor from a different plant, and in a subtle way, more than once, I feel like he has threatened to put me out on the floor. He states that there is NO difference in a traffic clerk, & a warehouse operative, and wants everyone cross trained. When I took this job, I did NOT reveal my disability, because I knew that sitting in a chair all night, I would not be affected or need any accomidations, and now that I feel like he may boot me out of my position and put me out on the floor, I don't know what to do. I applied for the traffic clerks position, NOT a warehouse operative, but this supervisor says there is no difference between the two. I would be on a forklift most of the night, but my point is...I wasn't even certified to drive a forklift when they hired me, because I wasn't applying for a floor position, I was applying for an office position. What should I do now?? Any advice would be appreciated. Donna in Indy.
