Guest guest
Donna, Sometimes it is good to come out with a disability and other times it is not. Some places that I have worked at have been accepting and supportive, others have treated me drastically different when I revealed my disability. The ADA laws are in place to protect the disabled in public places such as the workplace and the EEOC is a federal agency that is a watchdog for civil rights and ADA law. There is much advocacy available. Even so, coming out is tricky business. Bottom line ADA or not, a company will find a reason to terminate you if they don't want you and it is often hard to prove discrimination in court. Gretchen's advice is a good way to test the water before jumping in. Well wishes, Chris
